Eastern Conference Playoff Picture 8/16/18

While taking a glance at the table, the top four teams all pulled off victories. With these victories, Cincinnati (48 pts., 81 pts. Possible, 23 games played), Pittsburgh (43 pts., 79 PP, 22 GP), and Louisville (39 pts., 78 PP, 21 GP) have really started to distance themselves from the pack.

The Pride Kicks Cancer

So, taking cues from Prideraiser and Playing for Pride, I reached out to my fellow Pride members to see how we could make a difference and they were immediately receptive. This is where The Pride: Kick Cancer was born.

Where are they now?

Have you ever wondered what happened to former FCC players? Do they still play soccer? Are they still in the area? As a more recent supporter of FC Cincinnati, I have yet to deal with the heartbreak of falling in love with a player only to watch them be transferred in the off-season.

Playoff Picture 8/1/18

let’s take a quick look at the midweek games and how they affected the table at the time. Indy’s win and Nashville's win both helped them maintain control over their playoff hopes. The loss by Atlanta made the playoffs harder to reach

Let’s Build an MLS Roster: DPs

If Cincinnati is going to field an MLS team next year, they are going to need a roster of players huh? Well, it turns out, MLS roster rules are a bit weird, kind of scary, and certainly confusing. There are tons of acronyms and designations that are very easy to lose track of.

That’s why I’m here to help.

Why The Pride: Bob Roat

How did I become a member of a supporters group? Am I a double agent for the anti-soccer militia? Should you be wary in my presence, shaking in fear of an enemy infiltrator in your midst? Have no worries! I’m one of you now. I’m a true believer, a comrade in arms.

Playoff Picture: 7/18/18

With my free time I spent some time look at the USL website and put together a spreadsheet to help us all visualize how the rest of the season can pan out. After taking a look at where things stand a few stories stand out, for example, how close is TFCII to missing the playoffs? How close is the playoff race? Who’s set up for home field advantage?

Away Days: Nashville

This would be the first time in regular season play that Nashville SC and FC Cincinnati would meet. I was very happy to hear that we would be playing at Nissan Stadium instead of the baseball field they usually play on. Tensions were definitely high between players and supporters alike.

Does this Season Matter?

But we don’t give “passes” to the Reds for their horrendous seasons. And we sure don’t give the Bengals the benefit of the doubt. Frankly, it’s crazy that people don’t care more about this season. But the reality is, living with the ups and downs of every, single, moment of this team is objectively not worth it. So, does this season matter?

Is Emmanuel Ledesma the Biggest Sports Star in Cincinnati?

Emmanuel Ledesma has been pure class on the field as soon as he showed up in Cincinnati.  His playmaking abilities were evident from the start, and there has been no looking back. World Cup Love Letter

I absolutely love the World Cup. I never quite feel like a global citizen as I do during the World Cup tournament. It’s the one time the entire world’s focus is pointed in the same direction for an entire month. It connects such far-flung communities together in a way the literally nothing else can.

The Pride and Pride Month

I'll be honest here, the very first time I really kind of had the urge to pay attention to soccer was in 2012 when I heard about Megan Rapinoe coming out. Seeing people like her, Jill Ellis, and Abby Wambach on the international stage was more important than I could put into words at that time. But I think it's due time I try.
